Community Poppy Project 2024

Every November the Remembrance Day parade leaves from Armadale Parish Church on Academy Street. The Church would like to mark this Remembrance Day parade by draping a display of poppies over the wall outside the Church and hopefully a display within the Church too. As such Armadale Parish Church needs your help to create a large-scale installation of knitted and crocheted poppies.

The Community of Armadale is asked to create these poppies at home and drop off completed poppies at either the Church, Armadale Partnership Centre or The Wool Shop. The poppies will be collected from now until the end of September.

A free knitting and crotchet pattern is provided (click read more) and can be picked up from either of the above places. The patterns can also be found on our Facebook page. As this is a large-scale project a significant number of poppies will be required. so starting now hopefully we will collect enough poppies to create a beautiful display completed by our local Community. Thank you so much in advance for your contribution of knitted or crocheted poppies!

Deacon Margaret Corrie's Retirement

Margaret has been an integral part of Armadale Parish Church since November 2013, and her contributions during her time with us are highly valued. Alongside Julia, she has provided outstanding leadership in worship and has shared in providing pastoral care during numerous funeral services.

Margaret's expertise in utilizing technology for worship, both in-person and online, became even more evident with the onset of Covid. She initiated online praise services twice a week and a weekly coffee and chat session, which played a significant role in maintaining our sense of connection and community.

We are truly grateful for Margaret's dedication and the positive impact she has had on our congregation and wish her a happy and fulfilling retirement
