1. Welcome and Intimations

  2. Prayer and Lord’s Prayer

    Our Father, who art in heaven,
    hallowed be thy name;
    thy kingdom come;
    thy will be done;
    on earth as it is in heaven.
    Give us this day our daily bread.
    And forgive us our trespasses,
    as we forgive those who trespass against us.
    And lead us not into temptation;
    but deliver us from evil.
    For thine is the kingdom,
    the power, and the glory
    for ever and ever.
    Amen.

  3. CH4 118 Womb of Life

    Tune: Holy Manna

    1. Womb of life and source of being,
      home of every restless heart,
      in your arms the worlds awakened;
      you have loved us from the start.
      We, your children, gather round you
      at the table you prepare.
      Sharing stories, tears, and laughter,
      we are nurtured by your care.

    2. Word in flesh, our brother Jesus,
      born to bring us second birth,
      you have come to stand beside us,
      knowing weakness, knowing earth.
      Priest who shares our human struggles,
      Life of life, and Death of death,
      risen Christ, come stand among us,
      send the Spirit by your breath.

    3. Brooding Spirit, move among us;
      be our partner, be our friend.
      When our memory fails, remind us
      whose we are, what we intend.
      Labour with us, aid the birthing
      of the new world yet to be,
      free from status and division,
      free for love and unity.

  5. CH 592 Like the Murmur

    1. Like the murmur of the dove’s song,
      like the challenge of her flight,
      like the vigour of the wind’s rush,
      like the new flame’s eager might:
      Come, Holy Spirit, come.

    2. To the members of Christ’s body,
      to the branches of the vine,
      to the church in faith assembled,
      to our midst as gift and sign:
      Come, Holy Spirit, come.

    3. With the healing of division,
      with the ceaseless voice of prayer,
      with the power to love and witness,
      with the peace beyond compare:
      Come, Holy Spirit, come.

  7. CH4 622 We Sing a Love

    1. We sing a love that sets all people free,
      that blows like wind, that burns like scorching flame,
      enfolds like earth, springs up like water clear:
      come, living love, live in our hearts today.

    2. We sing a love that seeks another’s good,
      that longs to serve and not to count the cost,
      a love that, yielding, finds itself made new:
      come, caring love, live in our hearts today.

    3. We sing a love, unflinching, unafraid
      to be itself, despite another’s wrath,
      a love that stands alone and undismayed:
      come, strengthening love, live in our hearts today.

    4. We sing a love, that, wandering, will not rest
      until it finds its way, its home, its source,
      through joy and sadness pressing on refreshed:
      come, pilgrim love, live in our hearts today.

    5. We sing a burning, fiery, Holy Ghost
      that seeks out shades of ancient bitterness,
      transfiguring these, as Christ in every heart:
      come joyful love, live in our hearts today.

  10. CH4 624 In Christ there is no East

    1. In Christ there is no east or west,
      in Him no south or north,
      but one great fellowship of love
      throughout the whole wide earth.

    2. In Christ shall true hearts everywhere
      their high communion find:
      His service is the golden cord
      close-binding all mankind.

    3. Come brothers, sisters of the faith,
      whate’er your race may be!
      Whoever does my Father’s will
      is surely kin to me.

    4. In Christ now meet both east and west,
      in Him meet south and north,
      all Christ-like souls are one in Him,
      throughout the whole wide earth.
