1. Welcome and Intimations

  2. Prayer and Lord’s Prayer

    Our Father, who art in heaven,
    hallowed be thy name;
    thy kingdom come;
    thy will be done;
    on earth as it is in heaven.
    Give us this day our daily bread.
    And forgive us our trespasses,
    as we forgive those who trespass against us.
    And lead us not into temptation;
    but deliver us from evil.
    For thine is the kingdom,
    the power, and the glory
    for ever and ever.
    Amen.

  3. CH4 416 Christ Is Alive! Let Christians Sing

    Tune: Truro

    1. Christ is alive! Let Christians sing.
      The cross stands empty to the sky.
      Let streets and homes with praises ring.
      Love, drowned in death shall never die.

    2. Christ is alive! No longer bound
      to distant years in Palestine,
      but saving, healing, here and now,
      and touching every place and time.

    3. In every insult, rift and war,
      where color, scorn or wealth divide,
      Christ suffers still, yet loves the more,
      and lives, where even hope has died.

    4. Women and men, in age and youth,
      can feel the Spirit, hear the call,
      And find the way, the life, the truth,
      revealed in Jesus, freed for all.

    5. Christ is alive, and comes to bring
      good news to this and every age,
      till earth and sky and ocean ring
      with joy, with justice, love and praise.

  5. CH4 604 Holy Wisdom, Lamp of Learning

    1. Holy wisdom, lamp of learning,
      bless the light that reason lends.
      Teach us judgment as we kindle
      sparks of thought your Spirit sends.
      Sanctify our search for knowledge
      and the truth that sets us free.
      Come, illumine mind and spirit
      joined in deepest unity.

    2. Vine of truth, in you we flourish;
      by your grace we learn and grow.
      May the word of Christ among us
      shape our life, your will to know.
      Joined to Christ in living, dying,
      may we help the Church convey
      witness to the saving gospel,
      bearing fruit of faith today.

    3. Holy God, the hope of nations,
      tune us to your righteous will,
      as the symphony of ages
      claims our best, our finest skill.
      Shape our search for peace and justice
      through prophetic deed and word.
      Christ, conduct us, set our rhythm,
      that God’s praise be ever heard.

  7. Known Unknowns 33 I Love the Lord

    Tune: Land of Rest

    1. I love the Lord because he heard
      my deep and earnest prayer.
      All that I hold within my heart
      God listens to with care.

    2. I felt ensnared by chains of death,
      hell had me in its grasp;
      distress, anxiety, and fear
      were all my hands could clasp.

    3. And then I cried out to the Lord,
      “O God, deliver me.”
      To God, the merciful I carried
      whose faithful love sets free.

    4. The Lord delivered me from death
      and dried my eyes of tears;
      God kept my feet from losing grip
      and quietened all my fears.

    5. What shall I offer to the Lord
      for all the good that came?
      I’ll lift salvation’s holy cup
      and gladly bless God’s name.

  10. CH4 533 Will You Come and Follow Me?

    1. Will you come and follow me if I but call your name?
      Will you go where you don't know and never be the same?
      Will you let my love be shown? Will you let my name be known,
      will you let my life be grown in you and you in me?

    2. Will you leave yourself behind if I but call your name?
      Will you care for cruel and kind and never be the same?
      Will you risk the hostile stare should your life attract or scare?
      Will you let me answer prayer in you and you in me?

    3. Will you let the blinded see if I but call your name?
      Will you set the prisoners free and never be the same?
      Will you kiss the leper clean and do such as this unseen,
      and admit to what I mean in you and you in me?

    4. Will you love the "you" you hide if I but call your name?
      Will you quell the fear inside and never be the same?
      Will you use the faith you've found to reshape the world around,
      through my sight and touch and sound in you and you in me?

    5. Lord your summons echoes true when you but call my name.
      Let me turn and follow you and never be the same.
      In Your company I'll go where Your love and footsteps show.
      Thus I'll move and live and grow in you and you in me.
