1. Welcome and Intimations

  2. Prayer and Lord’s Prayer

    Our Father, who art in heaven,
    hallowed be thy name;
    thy kingdom come;
    thy will be done;
    on earth as it is in heaven.
    Give us this day our daily bread.
    And forgive us our trespasses,
    as we forgive those who trespass against us.
    And lead us not into temptation;
    but deliver us from evil.
    For thine is the kingdom,
    the power, and the glory
    for ever and ever.
    Amen.

  3. CH4 198 Let Us Build a House

    1. Let us build a house where love can dwell
      and all can safely live,
      a place where saints and children tell
      how hearts learn to forgive;
      built of hopes and dreams and visions,
      rock of faith and vault of grace;
      here the love of Christ shall end divisions:

      All are welcome, all are welcome,
      all are welcome in this place.

    2. Let us build a house where prophets speak,
      and words are strong and true,
      where all God’s children dare to seek
      to dream God’s reign anew.
      Here the cross shall stand as witness
      and as symbol of God’s grace;
      here as one we claim the faith of Jesus:

      All are welcome, all are welcome,
      all are welcome in this place.

    3. Let us build a house where love is found
      in water, wine and wheat:
      a banquet hall on holy ground,
      where peace and justice meet.
      Here the love of God, through Jesus,
      is revealed in time and space,
      as we share in Christ the feast that frees us:

      All are welcome, all are welcome,
      all are welcome in this place.

    4. Let us build a house where hands will reach
      beyond the wood and stone
      to heal and strengthen, serve and teach,
      and live the Word they’ve known.
      Here the outcast and the stranger
      bear the image of God’s face;
      let us bring an end to fear and danger:

      All are welcome, all are welcome,
      all are welcome in this place.

    5. Let us build a house where all are named,
      their songs and visions heard
      and loved and treasured,
      taught and claimed
      as words within the Word.
      Built of tears and cries and laughter,
      prayers of faith and songs of grace,
      let this house proclaim from floor to rafter:

      All are welcome, all are welcome,
      all are welcome in this place.

  4. CH4 611 Holy Spirit, Fill Our Hearts

    1. Holy Spirit, fill our hearts
      overflowing with love.
      May we shine with the light of God,
      come, Spirit, come.

    2. Holy Spirit, fill our minds,
      understanding the truth.
      May we grow in the wisdom of God;
      Come, Spirit, come.

    3. Holy Spirit, make us one,
      strong together in faith.
      May we live as the family of God;
      come, Spirit, come.

  5. CH4 721 We Lay Our Broken World

    1. We lay our broken world
      In sorrow at your feet,
      Haunted by hunger, war and fear,
      Oppressed by power and hate.

    2. Where human life seems less
      That profit, might and pride,
      Though to unite us all in you
      You lived and loved and died.

    3. We bring our broken towns,
      Our neighbours hurt and bruised;
      You show us how old pain and wounds
      For new life can be used.

    4. We bring our broken loves,
      Friends parted, families torn;
      Then in your life and death we see
      That love must be reborn.

    5. We bring our broken selves,
      Confused and closed and tired;
      Then through your gift of healing grace
      New purpose is inspired.

    6. Come Spirit, on us breathe,
      With life and strength anew;
      Find in us love, and hope and trust,
      And lift us up to you.

    The Story

    Hymn CH 19 Ye Gates, Lift Up Your Heads on High

    1. Ye gates lift up your heads on high;
      ye doors that last for aye,
      be lifted up, that so the King
      of glory enter may.
      But who of glory is the King?
      The mighty Lord is this;
      even that same Lord that great in might
      and strong in battle is.

    2. Ye gates, lift up your heads; ye doors,
      doors that do last for aye,
      be lifted up, that so the King
      of glory enter may.
      But who is he that is the King,
      the King of glory? who is this?
      The Lord of hosts, and none but he,
      the King of glory is.

      Alleluia! alleluia!
      alleluia! alleluia! alleluia!
      Amen, amen, amen.

  10. CH4 665 One Bread, One Body

    1. One bread, one body, one Lord of all,
      one cup of blessing which we bless,
      and we, though many, throughout the earth,
      we are one body in this one Lord.

    2. Gentile or Jew,
      servant or free,
      woman or man — no more.

      One bread, one body, one Lord of all,
      one cup of blessing which we bless,
      and we, though many, throughout the earth,
      we are one body in this one Lord.

    3. Many the gifts,
      many the works,
      one in the Lord of all.

      One bread, one body, one Lord of all,
      one cup of blessing which we bless,
      and we, though many, throughout the earth,
      we are one body in this one Lord.

    4. Grain for the fields,
      scattered and grown,
      gathered to one for all.

      One bread, one body, one Lord of all,
      one cup of blessing which we bless,
      and we, though many, throughout the earth,
      we are one body in this one Lord.
