1. Welcome and Intimations

  2. Prayer and Lord’s Prayer

    Our Father, who art in heaven,
    hallowed be thy name;
    thy kingdom come;
    thy will be done;
    on earth as it is in heaven.
    Give us this day our daily bread.
    And forgive us our trespasses,
    as we forgive those who trespass against us.
    And lead us not into temptation;
    but deliver us from evil.
    For thine is the kingdom,
    the power, and the glory
    for ever and ever.
    Amen.

  3. CH4 114 O Threefold God of Tender Unity

    (tune Highland Cathedral)

    1. O threefold God of tender unity,
      Life’s great unknown that binds and sets us free:
      Felt in our loving, greater than our thought,
      You are the mystery found, the mystery sought.

    2. O blaze of radiance, source of light that blinds,
      Fierce burning fire in clear prophetic minds,
      You live in mystery, yet within us dwell;
      Life springs from you as from a living well.

    3. In every making, each creative dream,
      And in the flowing of life’s healing stream,
      When love is born or people reconciled,
      We share your life, O Parent, Spirit, Child.

    4. O threefold God of tender unity,
      Life’s great unknown that binds and sets us free:
      Felt in our loving, greater than our thought,
      You are the mystery found, the mystery sought.

  4. CH4 9 O God, My Refuge, Keep Me Safe

    (Psalm 16)

    1. O God, my refuge, keep me safe:
      On you my good depends;
      O LORD, you are my Lord alone,
      Your saints my choicest friends.

    2. Whoever turns to other gods
      Will find remorse and shame;
      To them I make no sacrifice,
      Nor will I speak their name.

    3. The LORD is my inheritance,
      A prize beyond compare;
      His word instructs me day and night,
      His own beloved heir.

    4. At all times I have set the LORD
      Before my face to stand;
      No trial, no pain can shake my hope
      With him at my right hand.

    5. My heart and soul rejoice in you
      And in your power to save:
      You will not leave your Holy One
      To perish in the grave.

    6. You lead me to the path of life,
      Before your face to stand
      And drink my fill of endless joys
      That flow at your right hand.

  6. CH4 608 Spirit of Truth and Grace

    1. Spirit of truth and grace, come to us in this place
      as now in Jesus’ name God’s people gather.
      Open our eyes to see truths that will ever be,
      and in communion draw us close together.

    2. Spirit of joy and peace make all anxieties cease
      with knowledge of the Father’s perfect caring.
      Then may God’s children know love that won’t let us go
      and joy that fills each day, beyond comparing.

    3. Spirit of life and power, revive us in this hour
      and stir our hearts to praise with true devotion.
      Fill us with heavenly fire, and every heart inspire,
      that we may serve the world with your compassion.

  9. CH4 566 When I Receive the Peace of Christ

    1. When I receive the peace of Christ
      my loneliness shall end;
      and I must reach a hand and take
      my brother as a friend —
      my brother as a friend indeed
      who has an honoured place
      where he may stand before the Lord
      in dignity and grace.

    2. When I receive the peace of Christ
      my loneliness shall end;
      and I must reach a hand and take
      my sister as a friend —
      my sister as a friend indeed
      who has an honoured place
      where she may stand before the Lord
      in dignity and grace.

    3. When I receive the peace of Christ
      my loneliness shall end;
      and I must reach a hand and take
      my own self as a friend —
      my own self as a friend indeed
      who has an honoured place
      where I may stand before the Lord
      in dignity and grace.

    4. When I receive the peace of Christ
      my loneliness shall end;
      and I must reach a hand and take
      Christ Jesus as a friend —
      Christ Jesus as a friend indeed
      who has an honoured place
      where now he stands among us all
      in dignity and grace.
